FAQ

What do I need to set up a membership?

To set up a membership at any Movie Gallery, you must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama). You will need two forms of identification. The primary form can be a valid state driver’s license, a valid state issued identification, or a military ID. The other can be one of the others mentioned, a major credit card, work ID, school ID, voter registration card, or a recent utility bill showing your name and current address.

Is my membership good at any Movie Gallery?

After you've signed up, you may use your card to rent at any Movie Gallery store. However, you will still be asked to provide your basic membership information at each additional location, since each store's computer systems operate independently.

Who can use my membership?

You may add any additional user to the membership at the store. You can also allow others to use your membership by giving them your membership card. However, by doing so, you are responsible for additional charges to your account.

What do I do if I lose my card or it is stolen?

If you have lost your Movie Gallery card, please stop by each location you have used the card and notify one of our associates. They will be happy to assist in taking care of the old membership and issue you a new membership number.

Can my rental be returned to any Movie Gallery store?

Each store has its own inventory, therefore rental items must be returned to the same store from which they were rented.

When is my rental due back?

Rentals are due back to the store before closing on the due date. If you are not sure when your items are due, please feel free to call the store. The phone number can be found on the rental item or use our Store Locator.

I am going to be late returning my rental. What am I going to be charged?

Rental items are due back to the store before the close of business. As prices vary from store to store, the amount you will be charged will vary. Please call or go by the store you rented from and one of our associates will be happy to tell you the amount you will be charged.

Is my membership information available online?

To protect your privacy, your membership information (balances, items out, etc.) is only available at the store you rent from. Please call the store to get this information.

How can I find out if my local store has a movie or game I want to rent?

Please call or go by the store to see if they have the titles you are interested in renting in stock.

Can stores reserve movies and games?

If a store has a rental item in stock, we are happy to hold it for you for one hour. Sorry, we do not use reservation lists for items not in stock.

What are the prices of rental items and rental periods?

Rental rates and periods vary by location, so check with your local Movie Gallery for current information.

Does Movie Gallery rent VCR's, DVD players, or game systems?

Sorry, we do not rent these items.

What is the Lifetime Guarantee on Pre-played movie and games available for sale in stores?

Movie Gallery guarantees that a customer's purchase is free from defects. If any customer feels that they have purchased a defective movie or game, they can return it at any time for replacement as long as they have the original receipt for the purchase. The lifetime guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, and covers purchases for personal home entertainment use only. Movie Gallery will repair or replace the product with an identical title. If the product is not repairable, or if the product is no longer available, we will issue a store credit for the original purchase price.
